On May 23, comedian Rosie O'Donnell took to social media to acknowledge her significant weight loss progress.
Underneath a recent photo of herself doing standup, O'Donnell wrote, "I can't believe this is me now."
Beneath, she added the hashtags "#mounjaro #weightloss #bodydismorphia."
O'Donnell has been in the news recently for having left the U.S. due to the election of Donald Trump.
In January 2023, O'Donnell revealed that her doctor had placed her on Mounjaro and Repatha, and she had been making moves to slim down with lifestyle adjustments such as cutting out sugar and exercising more.
She shared at the time, "My appetite has decreased significantly. It's probably the meds. And I'm trying to move more. So, all those things combined, that's what it is."
In March, she gave followers an update, posting a TikTok saying, "I've lost more weight. I am on Mounjaro for my diabetes, and one of the side effects is you lose weight... But it's also because I had a chef for over two years in Los Angeles, and I don't have a chef now. It's me cooking for [my son] and me."
She went on, "I'm one of those people who always had a weight issue and now that I'm a size large -- instead of an XL or a XXL -- I find it shocking... I really do. I find it completely shocking."
Mounjaro, or terzepatide, is a type 2 diabetes medication often used for weight loss, taken through weekly injections. Many high-profile public figures, such as Elon Musk, Meghan Trainor and Amy Schumer are known to have used the medication for weight loss.
Another notable female comedian, Schumer credited Mounjaro for helping her with notable weight loss, praising it as an alternative to Ozempic, with which she had an exceedingly negative experience.
In a clip of Schumer detailing her prescription weight-loss journey, she shared, "Mounjaro's been great... I'm having a really good experience with it, and I wanted to keep it real with you about that."
