Former WWE Wrestler Sir Mo Passes Away

Bobby Horne, best known to WWE fans as Mo from the tag team Men on a Mission, has passed away. The news was announced on Sunday by Book Pro Wrestlers on Facebook. Horne was 58 years old.

His passing follows recent health complications. It was reported earlier in October that Horne was in the ICU where he was "struggling with a severe blood infection and pneumonia." Horne had faced serious health issues in the past, having undergone a kidney transplant in 2018. He also battled a COVID-19 infection in 2022.

Horne began his professional wrestling career in 1991, where he first teamed with Nelson Frazier, who would later be known as Mabel. By 1993, the pair signed with the WWE and were repackaged as Men on a Mission. Horne became Mo and Frazier became Mabel. They were presented as babyfaces managed by Oscar, who would rap during their entrance.

The team achieved championship success during their run. On March 29, 1994, Men on a Mission defeated The Quebecers at a house show in England to win the WWE Tag Team titles. Their reign was brief, as they lost the championships back to The Quebecers just "two days later in a rematch."

In 1995, the team turned against their manager Oscar and became heels. That year, Mabel won the 1995 King of the Ring tournament. As Mabel was pushed as a main event heel, Horne's name was changed to Sir Mo, and he transitioned into a managerial role for his partner. The two left WWE the following year. After his WWE run, Mo appeared in the USWA and continued to wrestle on the independent circuit.

Tributes have begun to come in from the wrestling community. WWE legend Leilani Kai shared her condolences, stating, "It breaks my heart to hear that Bobby Horne, better known to wrestling fans as Sir Mo of Men on a Mission, has passed away. Bobby had that special kind of warmth that reminded you wrestling isn't just about what happens in the ring -- it's about the people and memories that come with it. Rest in peace, my friend."
