Filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga has apparently taken a dig at Deepika Padukone following her exit from the Prabhas-starring film Spirit. On Monday night, Vanga posted a cryptic message on his X (previously Twitter) account. Although he did not directly mention Deepika Padukone, he accused her of engaging in 'dirty PR games' and leaking parts of his film's storyline.
"When I narrate a story to an actor, I place 100% faith. There is an unsaid NDA (Non-Disclosure Agreement) between us. But by doing this, You've 'DISCLOSED' the person that you are...Putting down a Younger actor and ousting my story? Is this what your feminism stands for? As a filmmaker, I put years of hard work behind my craft & for me, filmmaking is everything. You didn't get it. You won't get it. You will never get it," Vanga wrote. He further added, "Aisa karo.... Agli baar poori kahani bolna... kyunki mujhe jarra bhi farak nahi padtha. #dirtyPRgames. I like this kahawath very much :-) खुंदक में बिल्ली खंबा नोचे !"
Recently, reports surfaced that Sandeep Reddy Vanga had dropped Deepika Padukone from Spirit. Sources indicate that her demands, such as adhering to eight-hour workdays, a substantial salary, and a share in the film's profits, were not well-received by director Vanga. Deepika, who recently became a mother, is said to be prioritizing a balance between her professional and personal life by limiting her work hours. This led to her departure from the project, which would have marked her second collaboration with Prabhas after their recent film, Kalki 2898 AD.

After Deepika's exit, Triptii Dimri was confirmed to join the cast of Spirit. On Saturday, the actress announced her role as the female lead in the film through a social media post, sharing a title poster featuring her name in multiple Indian and international languages. Expressing her excitement, she wrote, "Still sinking in... So grateful to be trusted with this journey. Thank you @sandeepreddy.vanga... Honoured to be a part of your vision."
