A "little boy" sustained a head injury after "falling out" of a fairground ride at a North Yorkshire farm popular with pumpkin-picking families.
The incident occurred at Spilman's Farm in Thirsk on Friday at approximately 7.20pm. Paramedics from the Yorkshire Ambulance Service (YAS) and the Yorkshire Air Ambulance were dispatched to the scene, and the youngster was transported to James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough.
Ambulance service officials confirmed he had sustained a head injury. Subsequently online, a spokesperson from Spilman's Farm responded to a customer enquiring on its Facebook page whether the ride "the little boy fell out of" would be shut down, reports Chronicle Live.
They replied: "Yes, the ride's been closed today (Saturday) while everything's being checked over. It was a really upsetting thing to happen, but thankfully the little boy is fine and recovering."
In a separate message the farm posted: "We're so thankful the little boy is okay. We spoke with his mum this morning and will continue to respect the family's privacy while offering our support.

"The ride is currently closed while we carry out thorough checks. It's been a very distressing experience for everyone, and we're just so relieved he's recovering."
An ambulance spokesperson commented: "We got a call at 19.21pm - we sent an ambulance and the air ambulance was also in attendance. A patient, a young person, was taken to James Cook University Hospital, with a head injury."
The farm is currently bustling with families partaking in autumnal pumpkin picking activities, attracting visitors from across the North East.
This year, the farm boasted over 175,000 pumpkins ready for picking, alongside spooky stage shows, a Halloween fancy dress disco, and a fireworks display on 25 and 26 October. During the summer months, thousands descend upon the farm, established in 1941, for strawberry picking.
The site also features a farm shop, cafe and play barn.
