He was escorted off the field by Iowa medical staff and was evaluated in the medical tent. While he never left the Iowa sideline, he would not return to the field for Iowa. Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz talked about why he didn't put his senior quarterback back in the game.
What is Gronowski's Status for the Wisconsin Game?
The Gazette reports that Ferentz revealed on Tuesday that Gronowski has been medically cleared to play against Wisconsin. He has been able to practice, and now it is about getting him comfortable and confident. Iowa Could Get a Wide Receiver Back against Wisconsin
The Gazette reports that sophomore wide receiver Reece Vander Zee could return for Iowa this week. Vander Zee was injured late in the preseason and has yet to play for Iowa. He is not listed on the depth chart for the Wisconsin game.
