COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - The Muscogee County Jail is experiencing a temporary hot water outage on two floors due to a leak.
According to officials, the hot water will be turned off overnight and is expected to be restored by early Friday morning. During the outage, all inmates will continue to have access to cold and drinking water.
Once hot water service resumes Friday, it will remain available through the weekend. Repair work is scheduled to continue Monday, at which point hot water may be turned off again -- but only while plumbers are actively working.
Authorities say an update will be provided once all repairs are completed.
