Dollar Falls After Trump Nominates Miran to Fed Vacancy

The dollar was falling after President Donald Trump said he would nominate Stephen Miran to temporarily join the Federal Reserve's board of governors.

Miran is chair of the White House's Council of Economic Advisers. He will take over the seat from Fed governor Adriana Kugler, who unexpectedly announced her resignation last week.

Markets expect his potential alignment with Trump's push for lower interest rates, Danske Bank analysts said in a note.
