'Baylen Out Loud' Star Baylen Dupree Engaged to Boyfriend Colin Dooley
Return to Amish star Sabrina Burkholder shared a rare life update, revealing that she is suffering from a sprained neck injury that she allegedly sustained stemming from an incident that resulted in her ex-boyfriend Scottie Harville's arrest on domestic battery charges.
"In September 2024, my ex was charged with strangulation, kidnapping, and tampering with a witness. I found out last week that I've been walking around with a sprained neck for the past five months. Today I was referred to a neurosurgeon," Sabrina, 38, wrote in a Wednesday, February 12, Instagram post.
"Posting this to remind y'all that you're not alone. I go through s-t too. Here's to all abuse survivors - I see you and I'm proud of you," the TLC star added.
Three days prior, Sabrina took to Facebook to post sentencing paperwork from the Sarasota County, Florida, Circuit Court about Scottie's case and reveal that he's now behind bars.
"He picked up a metal table and was holding it over my head ready to bash my skull in. Thank God I was able to call the cops, and he dropped the table and grabbed my phone. I will never forget running as fast as I could out the lane," she alleged in her post.
"If the cops hadn't showed up immediately, while I was running for my life, I'd probably be dead. Thank God I managed to escape in the nick of time," Sabrina added.
In Touch obtained court paperwork from the Sarasota County, Florida, Circuit Court that showed Scottie, 30, was charged with kidnapping, false imprisonment, domestic battery by strangulation and tampering with a witness on September 13, 2024. Sabrina filed a petition for injunction on October 15, 2024, and a final judgement of the injunction for protection was served on October 30.
Scottie was found guilty and ordered to spend two years in jail and serve two years of probation.
He was charged with violating Sabrina's domestic violence protection order on February 4, after repeatedly sending her letters from jail. Scottie pled not guilty and his next court appearance is on March 10.
Fans and fellow abuse survivors flooded the comments of Sabrina's Instagram post with messages of support.
"So sorry this happened to you! From one survivor to another, we can heal! You are beautiful and didn't deserve what happened to you," one person shared, while another added, "Abuse survivor also. Mine left me with a spinal cord injury. Sending hugs and prayers"
Sabrina began dating Scottie following her August 2022 split from Jethro Nolt, with whom she shares three children. The reality star also has two daughters from a previous relationship with ex-boyfriend Harry Kreiser III.
Sabrina and Scottie welcomed baby No. 1, son Aro Reno, on February 23, 2023. "In Hebrew, Aro (pronounced like Arrow) means 'bearer of martyrs, exalted, enlightened, mountain of strength,'" Sabrina announced via her Instagram on February 26, 2023. Aro is her sixth child.
"My boyfriend Scottie and I welcomed Aro with open arms, and we are very, very happy!" Sabrina told In Touch in an exclusive statement at the time.
The TV personality's life has been filled with ups and downs. Sabrina battled a drug addiction and suffered a near-fatal heroin overdose in 2018. She spent six months in a rehab facility, later saying it completely "changed" her life.
"I've been clean now for over three years. I moved out of Pennsylvania and changed my 'people, places, things,'" she told People in 2021. "I had to change everything in order to become the person that I needed to be. When you hang out with the wrong people and put yourself in that situation over and over, you're never going to get better. You have to be willing to do whatever it takes."
Sabrina appeared on all seven seasons of Return to Amish, which ended its run on TLC in March 2023. Fans watched as she lost custody of her two eldest children -- daughters Ariana and Oakley -- in 2015 and 2016 respectively while battling with addiction. The girls were adopted by Harry's sister.
