The Labour Party, through Whip Naomi Cachia, is presenting a motion in Parliament for a discussion on generic medicines.
Among other aims, the motion seeks to deliver what the Labour Party said was "correct information" and clarify the comments that were made, so that these doubts are resolved, while expressing full confidence in medical professionals and pharmacists, among others.
The Labour Party is calling on the House of Representatives to accept this motion and debate this subject of national importance.
Any action against this motion will be considered as action against the public health of our country and to the detriment of the Maltese and Gozitan people, the PL said.
The motion comes in the wake of comments made by the Opposition Leader, Alex Borg, that generic medicines are of inferior quality.
