A couple of local high school boys' soccer clubs squared off in an early-season non-conference battle on Monday as Gibraltar Carlson made the short trip west over to Flat Rock.
While it was the regular season opener for Flat Rock, Monday's contest was already the third game of the campaign for Carlson, who split a pair of games in a tri-meet they hosted this past Saturday. The two schools hooked up early in the season a year ago with Carlson pitching a 5-0 shutout.
Monday's latest bout between the two schools ended in similar fashion as the visiting Marauders got goals from six different players en route to an 8-0 win over the host Rams.
