Moto X70 Air Announced to Take on iPhone Air & Galaxy S25 Edge: Will Debut as the Motorola Edge 70 in India

Motorola has officially unveiled a new smartphone in China. The Moto X70 Air features the same ultra-slim form factor of the iPhone Air and Galaxy S25 Edge, albeit in a mid-range flavour.

Despite its slim form factor, the Moto X70 Air offers a larger battery and faster charging support than Samsung and Apple's ultra-thin flagships. However, the Moto X70 Air boasts mid-range specifications.

Moto X70 Air Launch

Motorola is yet to reveal the pricing of the Moto X70 Air as the official launch date is set for October 31 in the country. Currently listed on Lenovo's Chinese website without pricing details, it will make its global debut as the Motorola Edge 70 on November 5.

Additionally, the Motorola Edge 70 India launch is expected to take place some time next month. We expect the Edge 70 price in India to fall anywhere between Rs 30,000 to Rs 40,000.

Moto X70 Air Specifications

Under the hood, the Moto X70 Air is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor. To manage heat efficiently, it incorporates a 3D vapor chamber cooling system. The device comes equipped with 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and offers storage options of either 256GB or 512GB UFS 3.1. It features a 6.7-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a 1.5K resolution. The screen includes a punch-hole for a 50MP selfie camera and a fingerprint sensor beneath it.

Despite not being as slim as high-end models like the Galaxy S25 Edge or iPhone Air, the Moto X70 Air offers a larger battery capacity of 4,800mAh. This battery supports fast wired charging at 68W and wireless charging at 15W. In comparison, Samsung's model has a 3,900mAh battery, while Apple's device comes with a 3,149mAh battery.

In terms of photography capabilities, the phone includes a dual-camera setup on the back. It consists of a main 50MP module with an unspecified Samsung sensor and a secondary 50MP ultra-wide camera with a 120° field of view. Up front, there's another 50MP selfie camera with autofocus.

Moto X70 Air Design & Build

The Moto X70 Air's metal frame is designed to withstand drops from various angles. It holds IP68 and IP69 ratings for water resistance, including protection against hot water jets. Motorola's latest offering, the Moto X70 Air, is just under 6mm thick and weighs 159g.

The phone is available in three Pantone colors: Gadget Gray, Lily Pad, and Bronze Green. Each color option features distinct accents around the camera rings and power button. Stay tuned to Gizbot for more information about the Moto X70 Air or Edge 70.
