Blaze at a trailer in Cabell County causes explosion, firefighters say

BARBOUSVILLE, W.Va. (WCHS) -- An explosion was reported in Cabell County after a trailer caught fire Sunday afternoon, firefighters said.

The blaze broke out at an abandoned trailer just before 5 p.m. on the 4700 block of Logan Street in the West Pea Ridge area near Barboursville. According to Cabell County dispatch, the caller advised they heard an explosion and saw heavy smoke.

The Barboursville Fire Department responded to the scene and believed that the cause of the explosion was a medical oxygen bottle that was left in the trailer by a previous occupant.
