It didn't take long for former Michigan offensive lineman Ryan Hayes to find a new NFL home after getting cut from the Miami Dolphins on Tuesday.
The Atlanta Falcons signed the 2023 seventh-round pick to their practice squad on Thursday. Hayes' could have a more favorable path to cracking Atlanta's 53-man active roster given its recent injuries at the position. Starting right tackle Kaleb McGary was placed on season-ending injured reserve, while backup Storm Norton will miss at least the first four games of the regular season.
Hayes, a two-time all-Big Ten honoree who started 29 games over five years at Michigan, made his NFL debut in Week 18 last season with the Dolphins. The Traverse City native played four snaps on special teams and then signed a futures contract with the team, giving him a chance to earn a spot on the roster during camp.
Meanwhile, one former Michigan offensive lineman is remaining with Miami's organization. Guard Josh Priebe, who started all 15 games last season for the Wolverines as a graduate transfer from Northwestern, was signed to the practice squad after getting cut Tuesday.
He went undrafted this year before signing with the Dolphins.
