SRINAGAR, OCT 19: The President of India, Droupadi Murmu sends greetings to her fellow citizens on the eve of Diwali.

In a message, the President has said, "On the auspicious occasion of Diwali, I extend my heartfelt greetings and best wishes to all Indians, both in India and across the world.

Diwali, one of India's most popular festivals, is celebrated with great zeal and enthusiasm. The festival symbolizes the triumph of light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance, and good over evil. Celebrated across the country with immense fervour, the auspicious occasion of Diwali gives the message of mutual affection and brotherhood. On this day, devotees worship Goddess Lakshmi, the deity of wealth and prosperity.

This festival of joy is also an occasion for self-reflection and self-improvement. This festival is also an opportunity to help and support the deprived and the needy, and to bring joy into their lives.

I urge everyone to celebrate Diwali safely, responsibly and in an environment-friendly manner. May this Diwali bring happiness, peace, and prosperity to all.".

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his Diwali greetings to the Nation. In his post on X, he stated: "Let's mark this festive season by celebrating the hardwork, creativity and innovation of 140 crore Indians. Let's buy Indian products and say- Garv Se Kaho Yeh Swadeshi Hai!"

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has greeted the people on the auspicious occasion of Deepawali.

In his message, the Lieutenant Governor has said, "On the sacred occasion of Deepawali, I extend my warm greetings to the people. The festivity will light the lamp of compassion and righteousness and inspire us to move forward on the path of progress and prosperity.

The festival of Deepawali reminds us that knowledge conquers darkness and lights the true wisdom in our journey. It symbolises happiness and hope and reaffirms our faith in the ideals of Lord Ram. May Goddess Lakshmi, Lord Ganesh and Lord Ram shower their blessing on all of us.
