Pregnant women and parents of young children are being urged to book flu vaccinations.
The call comes ahead of the winter vaccine rollout in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, which begins on September 1 as part of a broader campaign to protect vulnerable groups from seasonal flu.
Dr Michele Legg, GP and clinical lead for the NHS Hampshire and Isle of Wight Vaccination Programme, said: "However, having the vaccination protects your child against flu and the more serious complications such as bronchitis and pneumonia, which can develop from it."
From September 1, pregnant women, children aged two and three, school-aged children, and children in clinically at-risk groups will be eligible for the flu vaccine.
Dr Charlotte Hutchings, a Hampshire GP, said: "I would like to encourage all eligible pregnant women to take up the offer of the flu vaccination.
"It is really important as having the vaccinations helps to protect you and your baby from becoming seriously unwell."
The wider flu and COVID-19 vaccination campaign will begin on October 1.
