Coventry have two major injury doubts before big Birmingham City battle - Birmingham Live

Birmingham City make the short trip to the CBS Arena on Saturday to take on Coventry City (12:30pm)

Coventry City have two key injury concerns going into this weekend's Midlands derby with Birmingham City.

Frank Lampard's Sky Blues are one of two remaining unbeaten sides in this season's Championship having won two and drawn four of their opening six games.

They were held to a 0-0 draw by Leicester City at the King Power Stadium over the weekend and are now preparing for a meeting with Blues.

Blues are set to be without four players at the CBS Arena, but Lampard has injury issues of his own to contend with.

Influential winger Ephron Mason-Clark missed the Leicester game with a hamstring issue and it remains to be seen whether he recovers in time for Blues.

In his latest update on Mason-Clark, Lampard said: "He's got a hamstring injury, which was basically from the Norwich game (September 13) and we've had to assess it and we're hoping he's fit for the next run of games."

Birmingham-born right-back Kaine Kesler-Hayden is also a doubt for Blues. The ex-Aston Villa trainee has an ankle issue.

Lampard said: "He's ready to train with us next week, so we're hoping he'll be available for the Birmingham game onwards at the minute."

Coventry will be without Joel Latibeaudiere and Oliver Dovin due to knee injuries, although the former is closing in on a return now.
