Minister of State for Steel and Heavy Industries Bhupathiraju Srinivas Varma on Sunday performed bhumi puja for two new 10-bedded dialysis centres at Bhimavaram and Achanta in West Godavari district. Services at the two centres are expected to commence early next year.
Mr. Srinivas Varma said that more depending on the need of the dialysis centre in Narsapuram, additional beds would be added. The Narsapuram dialysis centre would be built at a cost of ₹2 crore, while the Achanta centre would be built at the cost of ₹1 crore.
Mr. Varma added: "For the upgradation of dialysis centres in Tadepalligudem and Achanta ₹3 crore will be given from the Corporation Social Responsibility fund. For the medical equipment in the Attili government hospital ₹75 lakh has been sanctioned.'
A mobile cancer testing vehicle, worth ₹4 crore will soon be deployed and for cancer screening in the Narsapuram parliamentary segment, Mr. Varma added.
Bhimavaram MLA Pulavarthi Ramanjaneyulu thanked Mr. Varma for the enhanced medical infrastructure facilities. District Collector Chadalavada Nagarani, Jana Sena Party president Kotikalapudi Govinda Rao and BJP district president A. Sridevi were present.
