As just about everyone was clamoring Tuesday to make a remark about the Travis Kelce-Taylor Swift engagement announcement, the Big 12 Conference's vice president of communications and strategy offered up an observation like one might find in game notes available to reporters.
Wrote Clark Williams on X Tuesday morning Mountain Time: "Game note: the Big 12 Conference is the only P4 league to have a student-athlete alumni currently engaged to Taylor Swift."
Kelce played college football for the Cincinnati Bearcats from 2008-2012. Cincinnati at the time was part of the Big East Conference and joined the Big 12 in 2023 alongside BYU, Houston and UCF.
