COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Columbus Crew midfielders Max Arfsten and Sean Zawadzki have been selected to represent the U.S. Men's National Team in two upcoming international friendly matches under head coach Mauricio Pochettino.

The USMNT will first face Korea Republic at Sports Illustrated Stadium in Harrison, N.J., on Sept. 6, followed by a match against Japan at Lower.com Field in Columbus on Sept. 9. The Columbus fixture marks the USMNT's 15th match in the city, where they hold an impressive 10-1-3 record.

Arfsten, 24, brings significant international experience to the squad with 10 caps, including six starts. The Fresno, Calif., native recently showcased his talents at the 2025 Concacaf Gold Cup, where he provided two assists against Trinidad and Tobago and scored his first international goal against Costa Rica. His club form has been equally impressive, with four goals and three assists in 22 MLS starts this season, earning him his first MLS All-Star selection.

Zawadzki, 25, is a hometown success story from Olmsted Falls, Ohio. The former Crew Academy captain made his USMNT debut in January 2024 against Slovenia. Since joining the Crew as a Homegrown Player in 2022, he has accumulated 86 appearances and recently captained the team for the first time in their August victory against Philadelphia Union.

Both matches will be broadcast on TNT and streamed on Max, Universo, and Peacock, with the Korea Republic match beginning at 5 p.m. ET and the Japan match at 7:30 p.m. ET. Spanish-language audio coverage will be available on FĂștbol de Primera radio.
