He appeared in the dock at Dumfries Sheriff Court on Monday October 6.
There, he was charged with having a bladed article in a public place and threatening and abusive behaviour.
The man made no plea before being released on bail and committed for further examination.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 9.15pm on Saturday, 4 October, 2025, we were called to a report of a disturbance on Queensberry Street, Dumfries.
"A 27-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection. He was due to appear at Dumfries Sheriff Court on Monday, 6 October, 2025.
"A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."
