The government has issued 84 flood warnings as torrential rain batters large parts of the UK - with 37 warnings in Yorkshire alone.
The forecast for flooding comes after the Met Office issued a 13-hour weather warning for the UK - instructing the public to brace for strong winds followed by torrential rain.
Now, the government has issued flood warnings and alerts - over 60 locations across the UK have been warned of 'potential flooding', while 18 more locations have been told that flooding is 'expected'.
According to the Met Office, there is a small chance of longer journey times or cancellations as road, rail, air and ferry services are affected. There is also a slight chance of some damage to buildings, such as tiles blown from roofs and that some roads and bridges could temporarily close.
Yorkshire locals are preparing as 37 amber warnings are so far in place but only one red warning has been made signalling flooding is expected.
