Wanted man with drug paraphernalia arrested outside Extended Stay America in Middleburg Heights

MIDDLEBURG HEIGHTS, Ohio -A wanted Eastlake man, 57, was arrested at about 4 p.m. Oct. 8 in the parking lot of Extended Stay America, 17552 Rosbough Drive.

The owner of Extended Stay called police and said a man, later identified as a 27-year-old Cleveland resident, was following his daughter around the hotel. He wanted the Cleveland man thrown out.

Police found the Cleveland man outside the hotel. He said he wasn't following the hotel owner's niece but was trying to get away from his roommate, the Eastlake man.

Nevertheless, police told the Cleveland man he had to leave the hotel. They escorted him to his room and he gathered his belongings. He said everything on the right side of the bed belonged to the Eastlake man.

In the nightstand to the right of the bed police found a plastic bag containing a rubber band and a plastic vitamin bottle containing a glass bowl with burned residue.

Police found the Eastlake man outside. They learned he was wanted in Lakewood and by the Cuyahoga County Sheriff's Office so they placed him in handcuffs.

In the Eastlake man's possession were a butane torch lighter and detergent pods. Police cited the man for possession of drug paraphernalia and drove him to Cuyahoga County jail.
