Re: 2025 OpenSim grid survey

Yes, we haven't done one of these for a while! But since I'm going to be doing a presentation on the state of OpenSim at the OSCC conference in December, it would be good to have some stuff to talk about!

Now, there hundreds of active grids in OpenSim, and the more options you give people the less likely they are to take the survey, so I'm limiting the list of suggested options to just the top ten most popular grids, as of my last stats report. But anyone can also write in their home grid. In previous years, there was usually a write-in grid that had excellent reviews and came out at the top or near the top of the results!

This is a Google survey, so there are mechanisms to block automated and spam submissions -- and if a grid is found to be trying to spam the survey, the whole grid will be banned. (Yup, this has happened before!) So if you're a grid owner, feel free to tell all your residents to share their honest review of your grid. But don't offer rewards in return for positive reviews, or set up a bot to spam the survey.

The deadline for submissions is end of day next Monday, Oct. 13. Then, next month, I'll be running a follow-up OpenSim sentiment survey. If you have questions to suggest for that survey, send them to me at [email protected]. The anonymized results will be shared with grid owners on request, but no personal information or email addresses will be shared with anybody. You can see the results of our previous surveys here.

If the survey isn't coming up in the form below, you can get to it directly here.
