The Italian airline Neos will operate a weekly service between Salalah and Rome via Milan.
Neos was established on 22 June 2001 as a joint venture between two tourism companies, the Italian Alpitour S.p.A. and the German TUI Group. Revenue flights were launched on 8 March 2002. In January 2004, Alpitour bought all of TUI Group's shares, making Neos a fully owned subsidiary of Alpitour.
Salalah Airport recorded a 13.2 percent increase to 562,561 passengers during the period from the beginning of June to the end of August, compared to 496,936 passengers during the same period in 2024.
Aircraft movement also increased by 10 percent, reaching 3,409 flights, compared to 3,105 flights during the same period last year, confirming the success of the efforts made to strengthen the airport's position as a major gateway to Dhofar Governorate.
Swiss leisure airline Edelweiss Air has commenced twice-weekly flights between Salalah and Zurich International Airport.
According to the airline's official website, Edelweiss Air will operate nine flights in October, eight in November, and nine in December. Services will continue into 2026, running through May, with flights resuming again in September next year.
