Celebrated chef Gordon Ramsay has revealed that he recently underwent surgery for cancer.
The 58 year old culinary maestro, renowned for his hit shows Kitchen Nightmares and Hell's Kitchen, took to Instagram to reassure concerned fans that he had undergone a procedure to remove cancer from the side of his face. He posted a photo and issued a warning to followers, stating: "Grateful and so appreciative for the incredible team at The Skin Associates and their fast reactive work on removing this Basal Cell Carcinoma, thank you!
"Please don't forget your sunscreen this weekend [red heart emoji] I promise you it's not a face lift! I need a refund...."
Gordon's post was flooded with friends, fans and fellow celebrities wishing him a speedy recovery, reports the Mirror. One individual wrote: "Get well soon, dear chef," while another commented: "Well done you for getting a skin check! Something we should all be lining up for."
Others left heart emojis, with one comment reading: "So glad you're sorted! Speedy recovery chef," another saying: "Glad you're okay," and a third adding: "Good job for making people aware of things like this."

Another person chimed in: "So important to share things like this, slap on a hat, suncream and seek shade, happy healing. Well done to the amazing people who work in healthcare who do amazing work like this."
Gordon's shocking admission comes just after he recently revealed he feels "embarrassed" about the sheer number of luxury vehicles he owns. The motoring enthusiast has spent millions on classic and sports cars, building up a remarkable collection over the decades.
He recently admitted on the Smartless podcast: "I'm embarrassed about the collection.
"The only way I really get to understand these cars is on the track. Three or four times a year we rent a track out, truck them down there, I bring in mates. Silverstone and Thruxton, the biggest track in the UK.
"I've been collecting for over 20 years, I think it's about 94. The majority of the cars we have are all in this incredible hanger that we've just built."
The television personality traces his fascination back to his modest upbringing in Scotland: "I think it's growing up in poverty, on a council estate, a sort of deprived area.
"Going to school with holes in your trousers and your mum having to put leather patches on your knees that turned out quite cool. Getting called out by your mates for dinner tickets because you don't have the money to buy food."
Since those days, Gordon has become the world's most famous TV chef and runs a restaurant empire. Yet he disclosed that he's only eaten at his own establishments twice in 25 years because the spotlight makes him uncomfortable: "All the attention makes me uncomfortable!".
