Plainfield Army veteran and wife sue VA, say untreated infection caused heart damage, strokes

PLAINFIELD, Ill. (WLS) -- A Plainfield man and his wife are suing the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Army veteran Tony Walker says he was not treated for an infection, leading to serious consequences.

The lawsuit claims blood tests found he had an infection, but Walker was never prescribed antibiotics.

The father of six says his heart was damaged and he suffered multiple strokes that left him disabled.

The VA says in a statement that it cannot comment on pending litigation.
