Chelsea will enter the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup as one of 12 UEFA qualifiers for the new expanded tournament.
The Premier League side qualified as one of the UEFA Champions League winners during the period from 2021 to 2024, and they join fellow English team Manchester City in the competition.
Despite competing in the UEFA Conference League this season, the Blues previous performances at Champions League level have kept them in a strong position, and they won the competition back in 2021.
Chelsea were drawn into Group D for the Club World Cup at the draw ceremony in December 2024. They will face three other opponents.
*Club Leon were originally drawn in this group but were removed from the tournament due to FIFA rules on multi-club ownership. LAFC one a play-in game to earn the right to replace them.
Chelsea's first game at the tournament will be against LAFC, the team that replaced Mexican side Club Leon, before facing Flamengo and Esperance.

The FIFA Club World Cup will take place in the summer of 2025 in the United States, with the group stage to begin on June 14, 2025, with Lionel Messi's Inter Miami playing Al Ahly in the opening match at Miami's Hard Rock Stadium.
The tournament will progress for the subsequent month, with the top two teams from the eight groups of four progressing to the knockout stage and the Round of 16. The final will take place on July 13, 2025 at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
Chelsea start their group-stage campaign against LAFC at Atlanta's Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
Their second and third matches are both at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia.
If Chelsea finish top of their group, they will play their Round of 16 game at Miami's Hard Rock Stadium on June 29, then a possible quarterfinal back in Atlanta on July 5.
Should they qualify for the knockouts as runners-up, they will face the winners of Group C at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, with a potential quarterfinal back in Philadelphia.
Both semifinals and final take place at MetLife Stadium.
