Lana Del Rey recently accused singer-songwriter Ethel Cain of making body-shaming comments about her on Instagram, amid their ongoing feud.
The tensions began when the Born To Die songstress name-dropped Cain in a diss track teaser, singing, "Ethel Cain hated my Instagram post, think it's cute reenacting my Chicago pose."
The diss refers to a copycat photo of Cain and Jack Donoghue, Rey's ex-boyfriend.
In response to the drama, Cain wrote on her Instagram story: "Update: Lana Del Rey has blocked Ethel Cain on Instagram."
After a fan account posted the diss track clip, Del Rey commented that she had been body shamed by Cain, which is the reason why she blocked her.
"I didn't know who Ethel was until a few years ago - when someone brought to my attention the disturbing and graphic side-by-side images she would often put up of me next to unflattering creatures and cartoon characters, making constant comments about my weight," she revealed.
"I was confused at what she was getting at. Then, when I heard what she was saying behind closed doors from mutual friends and started inserting herself into my personal life, I was definitely disturbed."
Cain shot to stardom with her first album, Preacher's Daughter, in 2022 and was constantly compared to Del Rey's style of music, a comparison that Cain has called "lazy."
She is also the first transgender artist to make a Billboard Top Ten album. She recently released her second album, Willoughby Tucker, I'll Always Love You.
Del Rey is working on her tenth studio album, which was first named Lasso, then renamed to The Right Person Will Stay. She has since scrapped that name as well, and the album has no release date.
