Wagner, Petrutz spark Pennsville past Salem in SJG1 first round - Baseball recap

Jeff Wagner singled, homered and drove in four runs and Cohen Petrutz added two singles, four RBIs and two runs as third-seeded Pennsville defeated 14th-seeded Salem 19-2 in the first round of the NJSIAA South Jersey, Group 1 playoffs in Pennsville.

Mason O'Brien went 2-for-3 with a double, an RBI and two runs for the Eagles (15-8), who will host Salem County rival Woodstown, the sixth seed, in the quarterfinals.

Petrutz was the winning pitcher for Pennsville, which also clinched the Tri-County Conference Classic Division title with the victory.

Andrew May homered and scored both runs for Salem (7-13).
