The Lake County is celebrating the biggest in a string of remarkable Lotto wins in recent days
The shop that sold this week's huge €6m Lotto jackpot winning ticket has been revealed - as speculation mounts over the identity of the lucky winner.
There must be something in the water in Co Westmeath as the Lake County is celebrating the biggest in a string of remarkable Lotto wins in recent days.
The National Lottery this week announced that a lucky player in Westmeath has just become Ireland's newest millionaire, claiming a whopping €6,241,505 in last night's Lotto Jackpot draw.
The National Lottery can now officially confirm that Wednesday night's winning Lotto Jackpot ticket worth €6,241,505 was sold at Eason's on Pearse Street in Mullingar, Co. Westmeath.
The latest Lotto Jackpot winner purchased their winning Quick Pick ticket on the day of the draw (3rd December) from the busy Mullingar bookstore.
The win represents the ninth Lotto Jackpot millionaire of 2025 and the winner joins a lucky line-up from Louth, Dublin, Kerry, Limerick, Kilkenny, Mayo and Waterford. It also marks the 26th National Lottery millionaire of 2025.
This comes just a couple of days after another Westmeath player claimed a EuroDreams Tier 2 prize worth €2,000 a month for five years. Not only that but another lucky Westmeath woman got the surprise of her life on her 50th birthday after taking home a €300k sum on a scratch card recently.
The National Lottery's Darragh O'Dwyer said: "What makes this win even more remarkable is that it's the second big prize to land in Westmeath this week! On Monday, a player in the county scooped the EuroDreams Tier 2 prize worth €2,000 a month for five years, and now, just days later, we have a Lotto jackpot winner taking home €6,241,505."
"Add to that, Sunday's Daily Million top prize win of €1 million in Cavan, makes this an extraordinary week of big wins for our players! In total, the National Lottery has created 26 millionaires so far this year."
The National Lottery is now urging all players in Westmeath and Cork to check their tickets carefully and if you have the winning ticket, make contact with the National Lottery prize claims team on 1800 666 222 or email [email protected].
