Downtown Terre Haute's 'Haunted Haute' set for Friday

Memphis McNeill, 9, found out it's not easy trying to contain a bag of candy when you have short T-Rex costume arms as he walked along Wabash Avenue in 2023 for Haunted Haute.

Downtown Terre Haute's spookiest night of the year, "Haunted Haute," is planned from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday.

Trick-or-treat booths will be set up along Wabash Avenue from Fifth Street to Ninth Street. There will be over 60 candy stations from local businesses, photo opportunities including WTWO's photo booth, food trucks and a dance party sponsored by 100.7 Mix-FM.

"Haunted Haute is one of our favorite ways to bring our community together," said Morgan Leek, director of Member Engagement for the Terre Haute Chamber of Commerce. "Downtown Terre Haute is full of energy and excitement during this event. It's a safe, family friendly way to celebrate Halloween and support our local businesses."

The Chamber is able to keep Haunted Haute free and open to the community through sponsorships from Taghleef Industries, Republic Services, Joink and the city of Terre Haute Waste Water Treatment Plant.
