Tennessee tops Alabama with buzzer-beater, Auburn clinches outright SEC title

It will be rare to find a program having a better day than the Auburn Tigers.

The No. 1 Auburn Tigers took care of business inside Rupp Arena on Saturday by taking down No. 23 Kentucky, 94-78, to clinch a share of the SEC regular-season title, its third in eight seasons. All it needed was an Alabama loss to Tennessee a few hours south in Knoxville for their "shared" label to be flipped to "outright."

The Volunteers heard Auburn's plea, and delivered in paramount fashion.

Tied 76-76 with No. 6 Alabama with 3.4 seconds remaining in regulation, No. 5 Tennessee delivered a gut-wrenching three-point shot at the buzzer to knock off the Crimson Tide, 79-76. The successful shot by Vols guard Jahmai Mashack was set up by a throw in violation by Alabama that resulted in the shot clock going away, giving Tennessee just over three seconds to make the shot.
