Two men facing multiple fraud charges in connection to late foster mother

Court records filed by the district attorney show two men are facing multiple charges, including fraud and embezzlement in connection to Nadine Jett.

One of the names listed in the complaints is Cedric Von Ferdinand.

Nadine's daughters say he's a foster son Jett took in.

The other person listed is a real estate agent, property manager, and notary.

Together, they are charged with seventeen felony counts.

"There's a part of us that's happy that we got answers, but we still want to do who did this," Madison Lucci, one of the foster daughters said.

The Lucci quadruplets are relieved their stepmother has been found, but there are still many questions that remained unanswered.

"I don't think we'll ever get the full closure that we want because we never go to say goodbye to her, but we just will never know what her ending was and it makes me so sad and so sick because Nadine, the wonderful person that she was, didn't deserve any of that," Lucci said.

The San Diego District Attorney's office filed multiple felony charges against Cedric Von Ferdinand.

The Lucci sisters said Ferdinand was Jett's caretaker and a foster son she had taken in years before

"Charles had a name change. I believe it was Charles Brown and then he changed his name to Cedric Van Ferdinand," Tiffany Lucci said.

The Lucci's said Ferdinand would not let them contact Jett and withheld information about her to them.

They said at one point he told them she had died on easter of 2024, but when the Lucci's asked him for a death certificate, he would not provide one.

That's when one of the quadruplets decided to go to Jett's ranch to look for her.

"I went over to the ranch and I found all the you know, forged documents and the practiced signatures in the trash," Tiffany said.

The San Diego County District Attorney's office charged Cedric Van Ferdinand and notary Raymond Joseph Alto with multiple fraud counts, including forgery, grand theft, and falsifying information to claim ownership of Jett's Ranch.

"He abused you know, her love for him and here we are now, so my sisters and I are going to keep fighting for justice and to keep Nadine's name alive because she was a wonderful woman and she had a huge heart," Tiffany said.

The Lucci's said it's been a long and hard-fought battle to bring justice for Nadine, but they will continue fighting the way she once fought for them.

"She loved with all her heart. She cared with all her heart and I think she made an impact on many people's lives," Tiffany said.

The preliminary hearing is scheduled for Sept. 5 at the San Diego Superior Court.
