Savannah Guthrie's Kids Charley and Val Adorably Interview Her on "Today" About Her New Children's Book: 'Perfect'

The journalist children's book "Mostly What God Does Is Love You" is out now

Savannah Guthrie's two kids are already following in her journalist footsteps.

On Tuesday, Feb. 25, Guthrie, 53, was interviewed on Today by her daughter Vale, 10, and son Charley, 8, about her new children's book, Mostly What God Does Is Love You. As they discussed their relationship with faith, Guthrie was asked by Vale how her relationship with God began.

"I do remember talking to God when I was your age," Guthrie told her daughter. "I remember saying my prayers. I remember asking not to get a bad grade on a test or asking for a certain present for Christmas."

"But I also remember talking to God about my fears and my worries, and I guess that's why it's so important for me to tell you and Charley about him because I'm hoping you're having a conversation, too."

As the interview went on, the video shifted to show clips of Guthrie's two kids reading her book. Guthrie's son Charley could also be seen waving to his mom on the monitor and helping his sister put her mic on for the interview.

At the end of the interview, Guthrie gave her daughter a big hug for an "awesome interview" and smiled at Charley, who was also on set. "That was perfect," Guthrie said.

Earlier this month, Guthrie brought out Vale and Charley as Philadelphia Eagles' quarterback Jalen Hurts joined the cast on Today. In a sweet video posted to Instagram, both kids wore Hurts' jersey as they shook his hand while Guthrie proudly looked on, introducing them one at a time.

Guthrie's husband Michael Feldman, a Philadelphia native, also joined the foursome on screen, stepping onto the stage to pose for a photo.

"'Best morning ever.' 💚🏈🦅 #JalenHurts," the video's caption read as the Eagles' fight song played in the background.

Back in December, Guthrie shared a carousel of photos on her Instagram from her time at the White House holiday press party, which included a sweet photo of herself and her daughter Vale posing alongside Jenna Bush Hager and her 11-year-old daughter, Mila.

In the photo, the two Today co-hosts posed together in front of a Christmas tree, while their daughters stood in front of them and smiled. Guthrie also included a video of Mila and Vale dancing and twirling around at the party, as well as solo shots of both mother-daughter duos.
