The Trump administration is shattering our country. It is openly stoking division and hatred, declaring war on American cities and the "enemies within" (note: many Republicans also live in these cities), urging the military to use American cities as a "training ground," destroying all that is good in our nation and crippling innovation and prosperity.

Now is the time for Republican legislators and voters to ask if they can honestly remain loyal to the Republican Party without being complicit to the cruelty and recklessness of this administration.

What is the essence of a political party that will take food benefits from starving women and children, denigrate the women and minorities in our military (who currently make up well more than 30% of our ranks), stand by while our health care system is shredded, our world-class medical research is obliterated, our farm economy is ruined, our constitutional protections are shattered and will declare war on our cities while ignoring national security threats from abroad?

It is delusional for Republicans to think that anyone can control this wrecking ball or that they are immune from its impacts. No matter what their allegiance, hunkering down will not keep them safe.

The outrage to this perversion of America should be color blind: there is no red or blue, no liberal or conservative. This outrage should be seething in the belly of every American because we are all in the crosshairs of this administration.

On Oct. 18, No Kings Day, join us in protest to show our outrage.
