MOORHEAD -- A local community member is leading a drive to collect period products for women living in a Fargo shelter.
Whitney McClain, board member of the National Alliance on Mental Illness Moorhead and Miss River Valley 2025, has launched "Cycle of Care: Nurturing Mental and Menstrual Health."
The drive is occurring throughout the month of March in honor of Women's History Month, McClain said in a news release.
The Cycle of Care campaign underscores the link between mental and menstrual health. Lack of access to period products can exacerbate feelings of anxiety, stress, and mental health struggles, the release said.
"Period products are a basic necessity, and every woman deserves the ability to care for her body without added stress," McClain said in the release.
Donations of period products may be dropped off at:
All donations will be delivered to YWCA Cass Clay, a local non-profit that provides support to women escaping violence and homelessness.
